Anyone with kids at GCSE level? Are they reading any books by/about women? After quite a diverse selection of authors in the earlier years, for GCSE it's Julius Caesar, Lord of the Flies and Great Expectations. @endsexisminschools.bsky.social

Why don’t pupils learn about women in history lessons? There are a range of barriers to bringing women’s history to the classroom - and plenty of ways teachers can introduce diversity.

We won’t be celebrating World Book Day this year. Our research shows that in 2022 only 2% of GCSE pupils studied a whole text - a novel or a play - by a female author. Three years later little has changed.

Adolescence yet?

For us, it's a stark reminder that we need to end the invisibility of women and girls in the everyday taught curriculum in schools.

Boys like Jamie exposed to violent misogynistic content online have no counter-narrative.

We’re extremely concerned the Government’s Curriculum and Assessment Review doesn’t address the invisibility of women and girls in the curriculum.

Jamie hasn't had the chance to discuss female perspectives of the world in school. Showing Adolescence in schools is not nearly enough.
