The fact that the Patriot Act built all of the infrastructure needed to do this in secret and just sat there, without getting dismantled, shows that we were fully ready for fascism when it came—just a string of complacency.

And we can see that dismantling the government is quite easy!

And the plot thickens!

It's a real earthquake or something... Raspberry Pi shake network picked it up. Curious what the heck is going on.

Maybe they meant to say “ends-to-end” encrypted?

And here I was trying to calculate the groundspeed of an unladen earthquake!

Glad it was a false alarm… but I’m now sleepy 😴

Is this the origin of the “monopod”

Underuse your credit limit?
Right to jail.

Overuse your credit limit?
Also jail.

Riffing on this, what if you have to bookmark certain pages (maybe an app that syncs?), but you don’t interleave game and reading. Then, before you boot up again, you read through the narratives that you built.

Then, the next time you revisit those characters, you get to see them in a new light…

Huh… I thought maybe they ingested the data from the DOGE data breach into Grok—at least, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did.

Now I’m wondering what the largest possible font that a modern browser would be willing to render…

Like it would cool to make a browser game where the boundaries are defined by the font and you had to drive around to figure out what the word says!

I like that the Matrix canonically chose 1999 as the “peak of human civilization”, as a joke because it was the year the movie came out, but they haven’t been wrong yet.

This might be a macabre take, but…

Perhaps we should implement capital punishment, but only for those who value NOTHING, except their own wealth.

Like, I get that it’s bad for society and all, but I kind of feel like maybe a class of people shouldn’t always feel above the law, y’know?

Hahahaha why does this read like a 40’s era detective noir? But not like how they actually sound, but how they are stereotypically portrayed in modern media?

“The day is Wednesday. 2:32pm, cold. Like my mother’s heart.”

You know… you’re absolutely right! We are the bigger threat to wildlife because we introduced cats into habitats that didn’t have them before, and we’re also causing climate change, leading to the death of trillions of organisms.

So it’s ultimately US who are killing all those birds!
December 4, 2025 at 4:28 PM
I fully agree—they are devastating for the bird population and they have a lower life expectancy.

We walk our cat on a leash, it’s a win-win!

And also preface that the platform is optimized for super lightweight static apps, which is beyond your use case!
December 4, 2025 at 4:24 AM
Yeah… Azure in this case is doing the heavy lifting, because this simpler GH Action here calls through to another one, which sufficiently abstracts the gnarly logic that you’re speaking of!

I guess my tolerance for devops is very low!

While the mental health system is stretched to its limits, I do think that municipalities can do more to encourage seeking help and de-stigmatize mental health at the local level, especially to catch and treat issues early rather than let them devolve into episodes.

Build communities, not AI.
December 3, 2025 at 8:35 PM
For sure, we’re in a particularly bad era for mental health, when human to human interaction is what people need the most, but many of them are touting automation as the solution.

But the incentive structure for AI companies—more users for longer engagement, is exactly the opposite of that.

I’m sure the YouTubers will have a field day there
December 3, 2025 at 8:21 PM
Errr, sorry I should say, it doesn’t do it by default, but it generates the GitHub Actions template yaml by default or you an add it in later, which is trivial to do and deploys instantly when you push to git.
