Is Trump a big ol’ Narc who wants to name everyone’s buildings, cats, dogs, and body parts after him? Probably, and it’s fairly obnoxious to watch, but continually pointing out his similarities to people with NPD, a debilitating personality disorder, really just hurts those people, not him.

People accuse trans women of lying when we share our personal truth. Changing the way I look, the way I walk, the way I look, I’m not lying. I’m actually telling a truth so loudly that it upsets you. I’ve been me my whole life. Church, bullies, my parents, everyone tried to obliterate who I am.

DID is not a rare condition, despite the general public’s insistence. It’s statistically more common than schizophrenia. 15% of trauma survivors will develop it.

The greatest opponent of fascism is critical thinking. Unfortunately, many people are never taught how to do it, or are actively prevented from learning how to use it. Like many, I grew up in a church where questioning things was taboo. I had to cobble my knowledge together myself.

My therapist gave me a good metric regarding my paranoia: if it’s something that could reasonably happen, has happened, or is happening, that’s called fear and/or trauma.

If your fear reaches a threshold where it no longer comports with reality, past or present, it’s paranoia.
