In the end Trump got away with everything (except the crimes and civil violations he committed in New York). And I don't blame Jack Smith. He did his job. I 100 percent blame Merrick Garland, who frittered away two full years and let Trump walk for stealing classified documents and fomenting a coup.
Yes, Jack Smith resigning was expected, but it still feels like justice has left the building.

Totally agree with this take!
My take is that she should snag the governorship of California. In the years ahead it will be a much more powerful position than I think she—or anyone—realizes.
A future presidential win is far from certain. It is not even clear what sort of meaningful national elections we will have going forward.
