How would @resfoundation.bsky.social tax/budget proposals impact Scotland? National insurance is reserved so an NI cut would apply in Scotland. But income tax is devolved so wouldn’t apply. Leaving the Scottish Finance Sec to raise those taxes - and take the blame? - 4 months before an election!

Why are the first murders/evictions on #traitors always women, black people or gay people?! Even when the traitors re black / gay - it irritates me 🥴

This book is absolutely brilliant- if you love SciFi… and even if you don’t. A series of strange interconnected stories that over time build into this rich and complex narrative about humanity in the distant future. Compelling and intelligent and emotional. A masterpiece!

The central point is that when fascism came to America it wouldn't call itself that, nor would it be wearing a swastika. It would call itself "patriotic" and "100% American."

Today is the 25th anniversary of me and my husband Michael first meeting in Manchester on a blind date. 😍 Since then, we’ve split up (briefly), gone round the world on a gap year, had way too many house moves (and holidays!), and been proud dog dads of border terriers Achilles and Rudi. 1/

💯
Right wing media has had it in for Angela Rayner from the start - they couldn’t bear a working class woman being so powerful & dynamic. She made a mistake and has paid heavily for it. Very much hope she’ll return at some point in the future - our politics desperately needs more voices like hers

Very sorry about Angela Rayner…

People of Australia. Thank you for Fisk. It’s the best comedy out there 😊 Roz should definitely be your Eurovision pick for 2026 btw… youtu.be/_ZdS0E1vIbI?...

Daily Telegraph today refers to A Rayner’s property “empire”. Whatever you think of her housing arrangements, I don’t think constituency house (bought for 375k in 2016), house in Hove, plus use of ministerial flat in London is an “empire”. Duke of Westminster wont fear a rival!

I quite like this - I know lots of people don’t but they didn’t like the Swiss24 branding either. Basically it’s fine imo but more importantly what about the elephant in the room?

It strikes me every time we do something radical - like go out of an evening - that me and my husband are such creatures of habit that the dog can spot the telltale signs about seven hours in advance. And yes he’s coming as well 😂

This is a great listen - I knew nothing about the made up languages that have featured over the years. Like WTaF?!? And strangely I never twigged that Ireland’s 90s wins may be ‘partly’ due to the language rule then in place - sorry @eirevision pals 😂
🗣️NEW EPISODE🗣️

The 2025 Grand Final of #Eurovision featured 21 songs with non-English lyrics, the most to appear since the language rule was abolished in 1999. In this episode, we'll explore the history of the rule and why language diversity has returned to the Contest www.eurowhat.com/276

This is brilliant and implies that what you’ll need for a Eurovision winner in 2026 is a happy 3 minute song. Let’s see! www.bbc.co.uk/news/resourc...

Some pictures from the Budapest Pride march. There is an astounding amount of people marching! (The people in the front of the second picture are not even the first people in line and you can barely see the end of it!) #budapestpride

This is a great read. Were you around before the internet? If not, do you wish you could experience life without it?

Part of me would like the internet to die, another part of me thinks life would be less good without it 1/
