I think it was one of the Red Letter Media guys who said something like "I just have to accept that Star Trek is dead." And yeah, I get it now. Paramount doesn't know what to do with it. No ST media recently has been ST. It's just dead. I think that's it. It's done.

A consulate is a satellite embassy. It has the same legal protections under the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations and is considered the same level of "foreign soil."
