OPPOSE NATLONALISM

A GROUP OF "SOUTH BIRMINGHAM LADS" HAVE STARTED A CAMPAIGN TO COVER OUR STREETS IN FLAGS, FROM BIRMINGHAM TO THE REST OF THE UK.

THEIR MOVEMENT IS GAINING STEAM.

FLAGS THAT REPRESENT A WRETCHED HISTORY OF IMPERIALIST AND COLONIAL WAR, GENOCIDE AND EXPLOITATION. A FLAG THAT EVEN TODAY STILL REPRESENTS A NATION THAT IS AIDING AND ABETTING A GENOCIDE OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE, AN ESCALATING WAR IN EUROPE, AND THE CONTINUED DESTRUCTION OF OUR PLANET.

THE ORGANISATION BEHIND THE RAISING OF THESE FLAGS DOES NOT TRY TO HIDE ITS POLITICAL TIES, PROUDLY DISPLAYING THEIR AFFECTION FOR FASCIST FIGUREHEADS SUCH AS CHARLIE KIRK, WHILST PUSHING RACIST, ANTI-MIGRANT SLOGANS LIKE "STOP THE BOATS". IT IS UP TO US TO OPPOSE THIS DISPLAY OF NATIONALISM FROM TAKING ROOT IN OUR COMMUNITIES.

FROM BIRMINGHAM AND BEYOND IT IS TIME TO RECLAIM OUR STREETS.

"IT IS OUR DUTY TO FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM. IT IS OUR DUTY TO WIN. WE MUST LOVE EACH OTHER AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER. WE HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BUT OUR CHAINS.”
- ASSATA SHAKUR

RACIST. SEXIST, ANTI-GAY. RIGHT-WING BIGOTS GO AWAY!

OPPOSE NATIONALISM

Is there any indication that Russian's are leaving Crimea? I absolutely wouldn't want to live there.

I'm Jewish. I'm also Mancunian.

Every other national party leader was interviewed by Laura Kunesberg during their conference.

Maybe the BBC thought as someone who also supports Palestine - I had nothing to say?

Well done to whoever removed the flags in Stirchley last night.

Nope, it's taken from the flaggers account. They monetized it on their socials. It's almost like they're grifting division for cash.
The flagger in the video is going to trial for fraud, so it kinda makes sense.

Absolute Stirchley legend telling the flaggers some hard truths

A guy from Bromsgrove with a £600k house, came to Stirchley and imposed flags on us. He's also going to trial for fraud for his other business.
Are we being astroturfed?

At first I thought it was the owners of Cheddar wine bar turning the street into an ironic 1980s Shankill. Turns out it was the unironic accident claims specialist who is under investigation for fraud and hasn't yet set up an accountable body for all of his flag donations.

So many people in Stirchley, including me, really don't want the flags here. We know the real reason the flaggers are doing this. It's not unity. There was no consultation, no working with the community to see how we would like to unite. It's an imposition.

Flags went up in Stirchley a few days ago & were taken down by local residents the same evening.

The men returned with a cherry picker and coned off parts of the road with police accompanying them as they put up new flags along the High Street.

Residents who object have been met with verbal abuse.

Pretty certain it exposes the vulnerability of monolithic energy systems rather than distributed renewables with storage.

Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.

Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.

What, Michelle? 🧵

I've been trying to create a feed of UK female political commentators.

It's always interesting to see the difference between this and the mixed gender feed.

For instance, around the time of the trial, Pelicot was mentioned very frequently on this feed, but rarely by men.

Have very belatedly left twitter for good.

Naively thought I was still fighting the occasional worthwhile fight but nope.

It's a cesspit and nobody should be on it.

People saying that months ago were absolutely right.
