I’d argue Unicron Trilogy!Prime, Animated!Prime, Prime!Prime(jeez lol), IDW!Prime(original or Skybound works either way), and Transformers One!Prime still remember that Optimus has flaws or weaknesses and is developed more beyond just a perfect hero.

If I had to pick a least favorite of the entire franchise, this and AVP Reqiuem are neck and neck.

Yeah, you can see the action this time, but said action is some of the most lifeless crap I’ve ever seen. Annoying asf humor and weirdly sexist. Like, all the women are treated so bad here.

If I’ll be nice for a second, I do like Unicron’s voice from Armada and Prime. The way Armada!Unicron just eggs Prime into bloodlust, clearly getting off on a noble hero like him indulging in warplay is the kind of villain shit I love. Also, Prime!Unicron had John Noble. Fucking Denethor.

Even when he’s attacking Cybertron, it’s not the attitude of, “I’ve waited eons for this, my greatest enemy Primus.” He’s just pissy his slave talked back to him and tried to show off. He’s teaching Galvatron a lesson. 86!Unicron gives no fucks and will do anything he wants cause he can.

I’m fine with Unicron being the ultimate evil in Transformers lore, it’s been a thing for a very long time.

But I LOVE how he’s this mysterious, omnipotent eldritch creature that just goes about eating and killing worlds. Even the Transformers don’t know about him till he’s smashing Cybertron!

Oh, this movie goes hard on the body count, and it’s awesome😁

You don’t even have to BE a die hard Transformers nerd to appreciate this movie’s tone. It just has this dark punk vibe that immediately hooks you and makes you fist pump in the air, but also cry when Prime bites it.

Idk if I’d call Unicron “the Devil” in this movie, though. In other iterations, fuck it, they go HARD on Unicron being the source of all evil in Transformers and that works fine. But I like the implication that Unicron just exists as an omnipotent being just eating and minding its business here.

Genuinely, Alien and Aliens are examples of two amazing movies that are purely up to personal preference as to which one you like more. I’m a shill for the first movie so I just love that one the most, but make no mistake. Aliens is a masterpiece, and in my top three Cameron films(T2 and The Abyss).

I’ve said ad nauseum before that I think Jared Leto’s a piece of shit person whose a terrible actor that ruins any goodwill a movie might’ve had if he wasn’t the main lead of something(or just not in anything in general).

That said, I was never into Tron. First movie looks weird and unappealing.

Apparently, the BTS truth of whether Orson just phoned it in or not is very mixed. Last I heard, he approached the role with the same seriousness he did for every other role he had, and gave it his all regardless of the material.

In my opinion, no other Unicron sounds as good as Welles.

Nah, even if you take Jared Leto out of the equation, the movie just looks generic asf. Nothing about it looks or feels like a unique blockbuster. Then again, director of Pirates 5 and Maleficent 2🫤

leto is a Bad Guy. the kind of guy early Bluesky would have had a field day with. Disney shouldn't see a dime from this, even if the soundtrack is as good as we assume it is.

For a PG movie, it doesn’t dance or slouch one bit. No generic safe shit. No light noises or shadows in the distance. Nah, there’s blatant body horror, child kidnapping into alternate dimensions, and literal skeletons bobbing out of the ground. Oh, and an evil demon calling “The Beast!” Like, FUCK!
