An engineer just making my way through it somehow. Virginian. I have two dogs.

Nothing good starts in a getaway car.
Also Virginia Senator Louise Lucas @senlouiselucas.bluesky.bot should be on here, not requiring us to see her tweets via a bot

I also wish more local agencies (I’m in Virginia Beach) that post to Facebook and Twitter also had bluesky feeds. You get personal accounts from some politicians on here but less actionable info about things like holiday trash collection.

One of my local tv stations, @wavynews10.bsky.social, had been a somewhat frequent poster but stopped altogether about six months ago.

Not sure why, and I don’t know if it was all Nexstar stations or just this one, but I kind of wish they would post again so I could have everything in one feed.

Anyway, he sent me a christmas card last week. In it, he wrote that he and his current wife were thinking of coming to the area in the spring and would like to see me (he still visits once a year or so for vacation and to see my sister’s family).

I still don’t really have any interest in that.

New Year’s Eve the night before he left, we hosted a party with friends, which we hardly ever did. It was a lot of fun, which made the following morning very jarring to be woken up early and told by my father that he was divorcing my mom.

Then she told me about her 16th birthday, which was a couple of weeks before he left. He went away on a trip with the woman he cheated on my mom with, and he wasn’t here for my sister’s birthday. He called my sister, and she gave him shit about him having left his wedding ring here

Nick Freitas is the other one that she says could beat Warner, because of his name recognition? They really are in their own bubble.

3. I think there needs to be a standard deadline for when received mail ballots will be counted, and people need to plan for that accordingly.

2. I personally do not trust USPS to deliver my ballot in a timely manner, so I do not vote by mail unless as a last resort.

(I requested a mail absentee ballot once when I was in college, and it arrived to me the day of the election so it wouldn’t be counted in time. Never again.)

However, I have been psyching myself out in terms of actually giving myself the shot. I stand there pressing the pen against my stomach so long that I don’t feel anything when the needle goes in.
