I have found a new flaming wreckage to cling onto. I will enjoy this site before it turns to ash. Any pronoun. Also, Mark Carney is a colonizer and fascist collaborator.
Also, a blatant disregard for even appearing to help people. He has incredible ideas like "A.I. powered baby carriages" and was asked what he would do about job loss 3 times before he figured he should lie about it creating jobs. macleans.ca/culture/evan...

I've followed the game industry almost daily for the last 10 years and the fact that I haven't heard any outlets or online personalities talk about it feels like it has to be indicative of something lacking in the show itself to resonate with an audience that should be hungry for it.

I have to wonder if the protagonist being a nepo-baby and the enemies-to-lovers dynamic she has with the youtuber who trashed her game put off anyone who would have argued that it was an important show for representation. That or the game industry collapsing makes the show feel incredibly dated.

I just read the federal budget cuts, and I'm surprised how much my gut sank going through it even with by rock-bottom expectations of him.

Between the recent Canadian and U.S elections it has become clear to me it is better to have a blatantly evil government that catalyzes rejection and protest, than a "polite" lesser evil that quietly chokes the country so people don't realize what's wrong until it's too late.

You failed to mention that Indigenous people are shouldering 20% of your austerity budget cuts.

This is #apartheid in Canada.

Following in your father's footsteps, as predicted.
Carney government cuts unfairly hit First Nations
Budget cuts to Indigenous services violate equality rights and risk legal, moral, and financial consequences.

Honestly almost certainly a Disney problem but one of the writers on the Mandalorian is literally quoted as saying "In a lot of what I've done, I don't like hard endings". Every Star Wars show they worked on I can think of has some major loose thread or sequel bait so they can continue it later.

Idiots at best and liars at worst. Presume that Carney is what he is, a banker, who has worked for notoriously self-destructive governments, and has no idea or desire to actually repel U.S. imperialism. When he cuts public service, see it for what it is, an action that destroys Canada piece by piece

If you're trying to reconcile this with Carney's efforts to increase military spending and wonder why he would do that if it won't work. Don't presume he knows better than you, and that he actually has genius thought processes that only someone in his position can understand. Politicans are often..

If you think we need to increase military spending to placate Trump though. I don't know what to tell you. Giving fascists' what they want would just encourage them to take more the next time. It's that simple.

U.S. citizens would also be forced to directly compare how their own lives would improve with public service when the U.S. attempts further hostilities. Making it harder for the U.S. to further tensions with Canada when their government has their hands full with a sympathetic populace.

Why even fight at that point if your just going to follow the U.S into the mud anyway. On the other hand, strengthening the public service could encourage appreciation for the country. People would have a bright future to look forward to and want to protect from the the threat of U.S destruction.

Seems like a good way to discourage people from protecting the country. Why fight for a country that's scrapping your health care? weakening your job security? your ability to breathe clean air? For national pride? For a country that is following the U.S's trajectory in deregulation and austerity?
September 17, 2025 at 3:16 PM
There is no amount of military spending that will protect Canada from a U.S takeover. The U.S has spent hundreds of billions of dollars every year for the past century building up their military as well as dwarfing Canada in population size. On top of that, defunding the Public Service...

Because people don't know what he's really like. If you read any CBC article for instance, meaningful criticism of him is practically no where to be seen. They're basically condoning his A.I. plans and don't mention the link between fossil fuels and climate change after his Oil CEO meetings.
