I finished my #crochet blanket for the doll my son is getting for Christmas last night. The edges are a bit ragged but I'm super proud of it!

Practicing so I can get good enough to justify the extortionate costs for wool to make an adult sized blanket.

I've learned a new #crochet move to make waves and I love it. This will be a blanket for the baby doll my son is getting for Christmas.

(glass of wine included as crocheting in front of the Christmas tree with a glass of wine is wonderful)
A half finished crochet blanket with the crochet hook still attached, made up of cream, purple, light blue and dark blue waves, sitting on the floor next to a glass of red wine.

Oh my goodness he's going to LOVE this. This is his favorite song. I can't wait to show him in the morning!!

Yup, wasn't me that started it

When discussing this we discovered my son thinks Kurt Cobain is his grandfather.

He knows Kurt Cobain isn't alive anymore. He knows my dad isn't alive anymore. The only conclusion he could reach is that they must be the same person.

My Spotify unwrapped is:

The Chordettes (my 1 year old son)
AC/DC (my 4 year old son)
Master KG (my 4 year old son)
Nirvana (my 4 year old son)
Taylor Swift (me)

Basically I'm the least cool member of my family

I always wish I'd come around to this way of thinking before I did my PhD. My thesis would have a quirky name and the whole thing would be an interesting tale of discovery rather than a drudge through lists of facts and a complicated chemical naming system.

I was walking around the house for ages trying to find a solution. I won't try to pretend I wasn't very proud when I found it 😆

I'm fairly new to #crochet so I don't have a blocking mat. My son does have a toy drill set though.

I bet this was more fun than a blocking mat.
