Yet again we've got a Scottish budget full of measures designed to mitigate Westminster policies. Instead of constantly having to protect Scots from Westminster decisions we should aim for a Scotland that protects itself forever from Westminster decisions by removing itself from Westminster rule.

Claiming that Scotland cannot support itself based on stats that come directly or indirectly from the UK government is a bit like a divorce hearing where the petitioner is only allowed to use evidence supplied by the defendant. The uk economy is already in deep trouble. Without us, it's in the bin.

Having voted to axe the winter fuel payment, Labour in Scotland now want a vote on bringing back a means tested version so they can take credit for 'reinstating' the payment. Sarwar's opportunistic hypocrisy is breath taking. As always, it's about what's good for the Labour party.
