Ultimately, the reason Donald Trump never faced any consequences for January 6th wasn’t incompetence. It was inconvenience.
Everyone in Congress knew what happened that day. But no one with authority was willing to bear the costs of confronting it.

Like my 80s curriculum led by Holocaust survivors & WWII vets. It was extremely fun to dismantle government propaganda, sexist advertising, Goebbels-style “news.” Empowering, hubristic, & fun to imagine defying Hitler & Stalin.

Just repeat it. Don't leave it to one opp leader, or talking heads on cable news. Own the podium, remind people of the objective truth. "No, this is not how taxes work. What he said was a lie." Especially when the WH stops their own daily briefings in favor of Trump's sprawling "news conferences"...

In response to the year end report from Chief Justice Roberts. He thinks the people shouldn't complain about the court's decisions. I think Roberts forgets from whence his authority comes.
When you choose the behavior, you also choose the consequences.
If the justices fear the people from whom their authority is derived, those justices better look at their OWN actions and change their behavior.
(SCOTUS reform, an ethics standard and independent oversight.)
