Low awareness means that people with DLD have to constantly explain what DLD is. #DLDday is on 17th Oct

DLD affects 7% of the population (2 in every class) and yet awareness is very low.

DLD is really very common. Way more common than other well know conditions such as autism.
DLD is a difficulty with using and understanding words and sentences.
And the biggest problem is that very few people have heard of it.

Pleased to be a signatory. Given the foundational role of oral language in both education & relationships, it is crucial that a focus on supporting the development of children's oral language (ie #oracy) is recognised as a core part of the curriculum.
