Mike—I’m on deadline, haven’t been on socials, but sure, feel free to transcribe and share. My remarks were off the cuff, but I’ll stand by what I said, how I said it.

Sadly, no. As you note, events are fast and publishing is slow, academic publishing even more so. The pace and extent of change is breathtaking right now. Publishing is waaay behind. All the best analysis I see is in online journalism and commentary.

I knew Camille, remember when she wrote that piece and have always loved it and tried to emulate her freedom.

The new @lastweektonight.com piece on juvenile incarceration featured several @ProPublica stories.

First up was our 2021 investigation with @wpln.bsky.social about young Black kids in Tennessee jailed for a crime that doesn't exist:

Still of Last Week Tonight. John Oliver is talking about an Oct. 8, 2021 ProPublica/WPLN investigation titled "Black Children Were Jailed for a Crime That Doesn't Exist. Almost Nothing Happened to the Adults in Charge."

I always vacillate: quote the bile or just allude to it, but since Trans History is for a general audience, I decided it was important for cis folks to see what gets pointed at us. Of course, they see it all the time now.

Sadly, being SF based, recently returned from 2 weeks in nyc, and no plans to be back before summer, not very likely—but break a leg!

Be on the lookout for monstrous figures bounding towards you across the glacier.

Yeah. Totally sucks. Heading out the door right now to say goodbye to a friend who is pushing the eject button on the USA tomorrow morning.

So many causes to donate to these days. Here’s another one I’ve just donated to: Annie Jump works hard for the trans community, help out with legal expenses related to a wrongful arrest if you can. gofund.me/a377021f

As a former Exec Dir of GLBT Historical Society I'm proud to see it join a lawsuit against the Trump regime contesting Exec Orders that seek to erase knowledge of trans lives in the past while deny opportunities for life to trans people in the present. Support if you can:

I joined more than 350 LGBTQIA+ historians in signing this letter protesting the government attempt to erase trans people from history by censoring the Stonewall National Monument website. Erasing a word does not erase our existence--now or in the past. docs.google.com/document/d/1...
