What’s something you did today that you didn’t expect?

I’ll go first: I had to pick pie weights out of pie rice.

Finally worked out today after 10 days of life getting in the way. My heart and brain are so happy, but my legs hurt.

What is it called when the characters you are writing refuse to be separated? It’s like forced proximity but the opposite of that. My FMC was supposed to do this part alone, but her love interests told me no.

Witchful Thinking by Celestine Martin was a very special book for me this year. It was my constant companion the week I spent in the NICU after my son was born. At times, it was my only escape. I was very lucky to be reading such a good book during a difficult time.

I wouldn’t be reading or writing romance if it weren’t for Katherine Marlowe’s books. They are so incredibly sweet and very grounded in history.

I love editing on paper. I have so much more confidence to make changes. I think because I know I’ll get a second pass at it before the change has been made officially.

But! I’m going to need a sturdier binder. This one is starting to fall apart.

The tree isn’t up, yet, but at least I got the stockings and garland on the mantle.

My drunk FMC sure did demand a lot of exclamation marks when I was writing this chapter. Sorry, girl, they are right out.

What if this is actually worse?

I will always prefer physical books to electronic ones. The smell, the book feel. How tight is the binding? How floppy are the pages? Did that sprayed edge accidentally mark my wall when I was being clumsy?

I’m mentally preparing myself for maintenance tonight by assuming at some point I will think, “Not a lot gong on tonight. Oh, I know, I’ll play FFXIV.”
