oh dear, oh dear, oh dear
delighted me with subtleties and provoked with insights into power dynamics. A story of a colonial Japanese woman traveling colonized Taiwan in the early 20th c. helps me rethink/evolve my thought perception in the modern American society. The power of fiction.

Thoroughly enjoyed the ending. How it wrapped up. some of the transitions were haphazard, but in a way it made sense at the end. wish that no chapters would've been set aside.

a cozy novel. feels good. insightful.

The first book in a long time that brought me to tears. Maybe it was the story itself, or that I have a young daughter or just my own nostalgia.
Lilly digs into her friendship. A great read for anyone to be reminded of the power of friendships at every stage of life.
