I'm still seeing news stories which suggest the US govt purchased a 10% stake in intel. But that's simply not true. They're pointing to money that was already appropriated as part of the CHIPs bill and other programs. Intel gave Trump 10% purely as a result of threats.

South Korean President Lee Jae Myung: “I look forward to your meeting with the chairman Kim Jong-un and construction of a Trump Tower in North Korea and playing golf at that place.”

Gov. Pritzker: “Earlier today in the Oval Office, Donald Trump…asked for me personally to say, ‘Mr. President, can you do us the honor of protecting our city?’ Instead, I say, ‘Mr. President, do not come to Chicago. You are neither wanted here nor needed here.’”

It's not going to happen of course, but tonight is another Goldwater-Rhodes moment. Has a single journalist even bothered to try & track down Speaker Johnson or Senate Majority Leader Thune & ask them why they're not doing their damn jobs or upholding their damn oaths while the Constitution burns?
On a daily basis now:

Today is the Goldwater-Rhodes moment. Alas, there appears to be no one left in the Republican Party who cares about the law, Constitution, national security, or our international credibility. And this is not a problem, again, that Democrats can solve by themselves.

I can't tell if they're racing to get ahead of the Epstein Files, or racing to get ahead of a tariff-driven economic crash, or racing to get ahead of Trump's health issues, or all of the above.
Is Trump's Declining Health Driving the MAGA Rush to Autocracy?

Donald Trump is an aging, criminal vulgarian with cankles and a troublesome wound he's trying to hide on his right forehand. The MAGA ramp-up on fascism could be a sign their King is ailing.

For those who say “Illegal is illegal.”

On this Juneteenth, remember: slavery was once legal. Harboring a fugitive enslaved person? Illegal. Black freedom? Illegal. “Illegal is illegal” has always been used to defend injustice.

Legality ≠ morality. Justice calls us higher.

It is moments like this that you begin to understand why so many have demonized empathy and compassion.

They want us to care so little for others that we will ignore injustices being carried out against them.

It is in moments like these that love for others is revolutionary.

It’s a shame that so many Republicans vote for something they know will hurt their constituents & the country simply because they are afraid that Trump will threaten them if they don’t go along with it, & they are more concerned about his vindictiveness than they are about them.

Holy CRAP. This was fascinating. @hcrichardson.bsky.social and @gilduran.com w/ insight behind DOGE's gutting of govt. agencies, the administration's attacks on universities, Project 2025, and visions of a post-democracy America that would sound like science fiction if they weren't happening today.🇺🇸

This is a direct attack on the First Amendment. Regardless of how you feel about DEI, teaching any element of it is protected by the First Amendment. This is a federal prosecutor attacking the curriculum of a private Christian college. Inexcusable.

The reason I don’t want a “Christian nation” isn’t because I’m against Christianity.

It’s because I’ve studied church history in depth and learned the tremendous harm caused by the church crawling into bed with the empire.

Separation of church and state is best for everyone.

so is anybody even going to bother to go through the motions of calling for Trump to divest from his businesses this time around, or did we just give up on that one too?
