Rewatching the episode of Derry Girls on the Good Friday Agreement on Good Friday is definitely something! What a finale. This show knows how to present its pop culture and history. Loving the Irish more each day.

Happy solstice!

Quoted post for fellow Northern hemispherers!
Winter solstice this Saturday. After that, each day will stay lighter a little longer. Just hold on!

Derry Girls definitely has fun writing and brilliant acting, but the music selection from the early 90s is top-tier.

Five years ago, horror was imminent. Somebody out there was feeling very ill to what would go on to be identified as and named SARS-CoV-2 or the COVID-19 virus by the end of the month.

Thinking about all the ways in which it changed and ravaged us.

"Chance of showers," it says, as it has been raining incessantly through the night with a cyclone about to make landfall.

TV shows and movies need to stop making fascism metaphors about oppressed people turning to "strength over others" from trauma. Fascism is a tool of the powerful to maintain and expand dominance, not something born from the oppressed trying to stop systemic violence.

I don't know if this is meant in jest, but apart from the efforts that go into preserving, art has no business being gatekept or worse, being an ultra-rich mantlepiece assortment.
I’m sick of the Louvre gatekeeping access to great works of art. They should let you borrow the Mona Lisa for the weekend

The Substance is such a brilliant movie. Filled to the brim with blood and gore, but the scariest scene is when Demi Moore can’t get herself to go on a date because of crippling self-doubt.

Been on here for a couple of days. So far, it has been the Orion, auroras, the Milky Way, cats, foxes, corgis, racoons, various nebulae, that volcano in Iceland, how Trump sucks, and dieworkwear dude telling someone off. This is my paradise.
