The biggest issue for lots of “stuck” people is with no access to benefits unless you’ve paid into the system there things like meds, food, heat etc if you aren’t “fit to work” then you can’t survive.

They’re also moving to make citizenship impossible to get if you do claim means tested benefits.

The biggest issue is not just housing but income. You can’t claim benefits like UC there unless you’ve paid into the system first and uk benefits aren’t transferable. So if you’re disabled or long term ill you have no way to live in Ireland even if technically you can move there.

I’d say any trans person that can work would be insane to stay in the uk. Sadly those with health issues who need help are stuck in the uk with no way out.
