Instead of my weather app telling me that it is raining, I would like it to say things like "Good job in getting leaves taken care of yesterday, Sean"

After all the internal acrimony about Gaza, it will be something else if Harris loses PA and WI but holds MI.

Teasing my wife for being the first to filch Halloween candy from the bowl was less satisfying than I had hoped and will undoubtedly have consequences.

Going to a phonebank for local candidates tonight. I can't emphasize enough how much better it feels to do something for a couple hours instead of just worrying.

Spent 2 hours phone banking for the Harris campaign. It was my first time. It was very easy and it was WAY better than stewing over the latest polls.

I was thinking about the overweighting of small population states in the EC. I checked and my kids' high school would be a top 25 city in Wyoming.

After multiple recommendations from people on BSky I started listening to the "The Rest is History" podcast about the French revolution. It is excellent and there are a ton more subjects in the catalog.

@justinpykehistory.bsky.social have you read "Pearl Harbor: Final Judgement" by Clausen and Lee? I've read other books discussing intelligence leading up to Pearl Harbor and that one takes a decidedly different view than, for example, Edwin Layton's book. I was curious if you had any comment.

Pop quiz. Who fired the shots at Donald Trump less than two weeks ago? That's another thing that has been completely blown out of the news.

So the new political parlor game is going to be, "exactly when did the whole Biden to Harris handoff plan commence?". I'm guessing when the RNC started ax it would distract the political class and help cut down on leaks.

Wondering if I'm collateral damage or something.

Smoking a pork butt with a chile coffee dry rub. Going to do the "Texas Crutch" and wrap it in foil for the last couple hours. Since the dry rub has coffee I figure I can use coffee as the liquid in the foil.
