Acerbic yet whimsical. Or something.
I trust you also think that Mercator projections distorting the size of Greenland is a feature not a big.

While I don't object to objective verification, I wonder who is going to find this study actually useful.

He refrained from putting "TRUMP" up there so I guess that's something.

I think Graeme Wood is doing a fine job making US media look silly and doesn't want any competition.

Real wages literally mean wages after inflation is taken into account. You are counting inflation twice in your example.

I will say how off-putting it was reading the constant messaging about how many people posters were blocking when I joined 1.5 years ago. It may be that so many people were traumatized by their time on Twitter that this seemed welcoming to them, but to average people it was the opposite.

Of course I haven't personally paid a price for the shutdown so it is easy for me to say whatever. But none of the pain was a surprise and if they weren't ready to deal with it, the Senate Dems shouldn't have started the process.
November 10, 2025 at 3:02 AM
This was a different beast than the Republicans fighting a Democratic president. The Senate Dems had a weak hand but were forcing the Reps to put everything in public. Even the Fox News crowd was seeing what the Reps were about. Then the Dems caved and things go back to status quo.
November 10, 2025 at 3:00 AM
A week from now it will be "the Democratic shutdown is over" and the Republicans will pay zero price. They looked horrible because they were being forced to be horrible in a highly visible manner. Now it will just be background noise with no cost.
