Do one of the things that makes you feel better, because if you aren't doing any of that, you will run down. Today I did some writing. I'm a writer, & if I don't write, I run down. It's very easy for me to forget this, despite decades of knowing it. And so I am here to remind you to do your things.

One thing I’m teaching my kids early is this:
I’m a person before I’m a parent.
A lot of us grew up believing our parents didn’t get tired, overwhelmed, sad, or unsure.
That lie cost us empathy.
I’m not passing that down.
My kids get to know the human behind the responsibility.
