They genuinely feasted with the casting in that movie.

#1 Klara & the Sun (Ishiguro): The book I continue to think of the most after finishing in 2024. No one does quiet sadness quite like Ishiguro. My review for the book was just "I am so fucking sad". It asks 'What is humanity?' & is only more poignant now, as AI affects all of our lives more & more.

#2 Demon Copperhead (Kingsolver): A David Copperfield retelling set in the impoverished south. Imperfect gut-wrencher that makes up for flaws & flimsy ending w/ characters that come off page, living lives that ooze unreality. Spoke specifically to me & anyone who grew up in those same trailer parks.

#3 Blood Meridian (McCarthy): Per usual I find a new inspiration and they are outed postumously as a weirdo immediately. But can't deny the impact Blood Meridian had on me. A meditation on violence in the deep south during the 1800's. An homage to Faulkner & a modern classic.

#4 As I Lay Dying (William Faulkner): Started reading classics I've missed & few of them hit quite like AILD. A study on the different flavors of insufferable people can be & features Darl a truly impressively written character. A look at death, poverty & the most depressing roadtrip in the world.

#5 The Bright Sword (Lev Grossman): I thought TBS suited me perfectly due to its reframing of the Arthurian legend & my minor obsession with that mythos. Weak falling action & some luster lost in my memory knocked it down, but its unique framing of a look at a world post-Arthur is worth the time.

Why do I, as a Stars fan, continue to watch the games against the Leafs 🤔

You at least asked a few Q's that were a little confronting, like why they did some of the stuff first place. The devs came across as 2 people who are desperate to talk about their game & I think it's impossible to say something engaging about an Ubisoft game & ppl are taking that as PR speak.
