We need to build some real social stigma around being afraid of cities. You don't have to like them or live there, but a politics built this strongly around watching TV and going "ewww" is embarrassing, and people should be embarrassed by it. It's like "fear of werewolves" being your top issue.

the frenzy over the hunter biden pardon is a good reminder that the press knows how to make something a scandal and has decided that nothing trump does is truly deserving of that treatment

This election and 2016 should have demonstrated that the most important voters in America respect strength and pugnaciousness more than they respect civility and empathy. They want to watch folks they think are funny be mean to people they don't like more than they want to feel seen.
