Randomly remembered this from Wendy's first solo album the other week - it is not on Apple Music in the UK for some reason; but it ought to be! Should have been a much bigger hit than it was.

The day the UK allowed you to take your own photo on your mobile phone was a good day. (There are a fair few rules, including “no smiling”, but you can basically just retake until you find one that you are happy with.)

Depressing, and a bit surreal - like… we think we "know" America, from movies and music and tv, and… we don't!

I actually lived in the US (in Atlanta) for a bit when I was younger. But this is not the America I knew then; and not the America I thought I knew now.

I guess what has happened, in a surprisingly literal sense, is that Alabama actually *has* got the bomb, and… it's not good.

It was a decent save, considering the mess they'd gotten themselves into. But... yer... not "good" I would say.

I know these are terrifying times - I have a son who is conscription age, so I worry too. But the kind of drawn-out war between Canada and the US which would require conscription is just massively unlikely, and anyone that says different is simply scaremongering.
