Thankfully I realized that my Sling subscription counts as a "TV provider" now, so I was able to log in using that!

the nice follow-up to this is that I finished a batch of cinnamon rolls late and ran them to a few neighbors yesterday. this morning, I needed to text the same neighbors to borrow a snow shovel. he helped clear my walk - & brought salt! - & I helped clear his. everyone's got an eye on each other.
