I also think Jay's position that "we're just an engineering project" is deeply uneducated at best & given that she's a smart person, more likely just extraordinarily disingenuous. Technology is a social phenomenon and the ATP has been designed specifically for a social network. It's a people thing.

The way we are experiencing this is as a genuine "fuck you guys" moment, where the level of "fuck you" increases with your level of transness and POCness

And I'm sure there are folks on the team who don't feel this way about it but this is how the failed comms strategy is working, publicly

thanks for responding -- I think the big gaping hole here is extremely bad comms from Bsky on several points and this is just the latest one. It's not unreasonable for users to have assumed that the statements made about Hive last year broadly applied and Bsky should have made an effort to be clear.

Part of what's extraordinarily broken about this situation is that Bsky made a big point of being hypercommunicative and it now seems like the org was being selective about that -- when it has actively made an effort to be very transparent and then when it has done the total opposite

I fully support this alongside a French 75 given the weather.
