Remember what I said about predictability being good for business? It's also good for our military industrial complex. Especially in the modern rent-seeking environment, which has infested even military hardware.

This is very lovely. The recipe says 2/3rds cup butter, but I've found that a half cup butter plus a quarter of shortening makes cutting less likely to fracture the whole thing.

This wonderful nugget can be found at fbibiospecs.fbi.gov/file-reposit... and is the official schema for how to report biometric data to the US Government. Codes G and N (+1 from F and M) are for Gender Impersonators. Been this way since the 1980s at least.

Last one, Mayfair. This scale is quite challenging. Be a slight bit inconsistent in cutting the blanks, get wide variation.

Even the US Postal Service is in on the "get your passport now" bandwagon. They're holding a fair at my local library.

Broke a drought of over a decade to slam through a quilt. A friend is having her first, and that means baby-quilt. Absolutely not my best work by a long shot, but this thing will get poop on it at some point. Also, if those cat faces aren't drawn in by age 5 I'll be surprised.

Here are two views of our observation spot. The brighter one was taken at about 15 to 20% totality, which means you can't really tell. The other one was during totality. We had a temperature drop of about 15 degrees!

This is a call-to-action from people on the ground in France. They're having a George Floyd moment, and their jailed defenders need help. https://www.cotizup.com/legalteamantiraciste
