This is a reality a lot of furs in tech hate to hear and it's a good way to dogpiled in a chat. It's good to have pride in one's work, but the line between pride and vanity/arrogance is thin.

Frankly the fandom would hardly blink either. Fandom outlets would go through a week-long series of condolences posts and every fur con one remembrance panel plus a charity drive. The fandom would carry on without the fountain of art running empty.
