Yes (it’s already that way now) and yes. Especially if government foots more of the bill for their training. Supply/demand will still mean they can command a very good wage.

Yes but losing std dedication wouldn’t happen, deduction would be adjusted. People already losing access to care because private companies don’t want to pay for them. At least government can be held to account, unlike workplace HC plans.

I’m pissed that such a statement didn’t immediately result in every other reporter there flipping him off and leaving the room. Everyone in a workplace should have their colleague’s and competition’s back when it comes to abusive language.

There is *some* argument that removing a subsidy will drive prices down, a corollary of the argument that subsidizing anything raises the affordability floor and thus drives prices up.

That said, the point of a subsidy is to help people who wouldn’t be able to afford it unsubsidized either way.
