Now that my mom has dementia, I spend time with her every week. I still feel inadequate and guilty, and I'm trying to accept that, but at least I'm not running this time.

It still hurts, though.

It really is. The best/worst moments are when she's like her old self but then realizes how much she's forgotten. And then asking who is still alive. That shit is heartbreaking every time.

It's so hard. I knew it was going to be difficult but I didn't know how difficult.

We didn't even pretend to do turkey day. After 5 days in the hospital, we just wanted to be quietly at home.

Then, I started feeling a little under the weather so now I'm recovering from that.

Life is definitely lifeing. In all the painful ways.

My s.o. went in for a routine procedure, something that should have had him at 100% post procedure, but instead had him bleeding internally for 18 hours forcing them to go back in and fix what was fucked up. He ended up in the ICU for 3 days but is now fully on the mend. Terrifying and exhausting.

They felt entitled to my EVERY thought and disrupted meetings to get them. It was hell.

I had to learn to freeze when people fucked with me because if they touched me, my first response was to punch them in the face and if they interrupted me, I would shut them down, which was taken as assault.

And I mean ANY expression. If I smiled, they accused me of mocking them. If I frowned, they accused me of belittling them. If I had no expression, they would stop meetings to ask what my expression meant. If I shifted in my seat, they'd ask why I moved.
