When my dad was dying, I felt completely inadequate and guilty for not being able to save him. When he passed, I regretted not spending more time with him because I tried to avoid those feelings.

November was a wild ass month.
My mom stayed with us for a few days. She has dementia & went nonresponsive. We called the paramedics & after a couple of hours, she was back to her new normal - which is becoming her old normal as her dementia progresses & we'll have more days like that.

Definitely not just you. You literally have to learn to delay your reactions to things and if you can't delay, you learn to hide them.
I would have to sit in meetings with my face down, pretending to take notes just to get through a meeting without them stopping to ask why I had ANY expression.
