The term “far-left” does not mean being an extreme liberal. On the political spectrum, far-left is the polar opposite of far-right, which is fascist totalitarianism. Far-left means anarchy, where a democratic majority rules. And without government, there’s no societal safety net or egalitarianism.

This is exactly right. Trump’s big advantage is that he’s playing tic-tac-toe without a pencil but somehow convinces people he’s multiverse time-travel chess.
There’s a narrative that Gaetz was a deliberate head-fake — a distraction to boost the real candidate — but I am always suspicious of narratives that attribute four-dimensional chess to trump as opposed to knocking over the table and eating the checkers.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

Admittedly I’m no expert in gender politics and I’m just a guy but I’m pretty sure that the election to the presidency of a man found by a federal jury to have forcibly penetrated a woman’s vagina with his hands in a department store dressing room isn’t a great thing for women.
