I grow food on purpose and do politics by accident. Former party chair and so on.

The only person on the planet applying Albuquerque street smarts to South Carolina politics.

You have to be tough to do good.

They sullied their own reputation. The only way for them to get customers back is to address that directly. Anything else is distraction and denial for upper management.

In the meantime, they’re formerly loyal customers are changing spending habits in ways that might not be reversible.

Gooey pecan pie was invented in the 1930s to sell caro syrup.

Before that, non-gooey versions were invented in Texas and New Mexico to make use of native nut trees.

She always got them in big ten pound bags from a local orchard at harvest time and kept them in a deep freeze to keep their sweetness.

In a sad twist of fate, I can’t have them in the house because of an allergic child.

Let me try to remember all the desserts she made for Thanksgiving:

Pumpkin pie

Sweet potato pie

Pecan pie with the nuts all the way down to the crust

Red hot apple pie

Pumpkin cake

Three layer Italian cream cake

And something called “Better than Robert Redford” served in a lasagna dish.

I just keep thinking about how the British royals and other elites absolutely rolled over and fawned over him at that banquet.

What is going on with Britain’s most privileged? Privately, do they wholeheartedly approve of his racism etc?

If so, what are the implications?

Like, yay, but also oh no.

Same.

Not enough evidence.
