Wild that one of the things that drove the aircraft industry to Trump was Biden enforcing "increased transparency on the fees levied on customers." I (hypothetically) thought Capitalism was predicated on fair and voluntary exchange between the two sides? Sounds tricky without knowledge of what I pay

One of my biggest gripes about DT tbh. Scions and the WoL act like they have no prior experience or investments. We don't use our political experience to help WL, we don't get viciously upset at Alexandria despite it spitting in the face of everything EW stood for or the fact it runs on genocide?

"Oh my god, how did all those ordinary people just roll over for the Nazis? All those institutions? Churches, universities, businesses? How could they all join in?"
*Motions vigorously to the present*
If we, by some miracle, get a second Nuremberg, the net must be wider, and the punishments worse

Its rather sad that this appears to be necessary, but next time we change or replace the constitution, we need to add a bit that says "no you can't just forfeit your duties and let the executive branch do your job for you"

Gonna do with Florida what the Qing did with Manchuria and make it a sort of forbidden preserve. Eject the northern retirees and real-estate developers, destroy the resorts and golf courses with their obsession over palm trees, and bring back proper Florida nature and wildlife like cypress trees

I remember the early days of Assassin's Creed, when it was more inspired and original, and brave enough to (correctly) call John Roberts a Templar because of Citizens United

Brutus, Cassius, I apologize for any of my justified criticisms in the past.
We need you back, for Ceasar has not only accepted the crown, but put it on himself!
Just didn't expect Marcus Antonius to be South African...

Not a lot of info on this in English, but what is there says that this was basically the Portuguese sailing up in a surprise raid rather than a proper naval battle. Outside of context, however, its very, very funny

Turns out in the days of Classic Greece, they had a huge tourist trap of "Troy" complete with supposed tombs of Achilles and Ajax. How do we know it was a tourist trap? Well apart from accounts of them selling cheap trinkets, it's just... not at Troy

I wanna go back in time and, after explaining a few dozen prerequiste things, get Alexander the Great to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes
I think he would like Reinhard

At Mar-a-Lago, a bizarre, golden-hoofed goat idol is on display.

The idol is wrapped in Trump $100 bills that say, “In Trump we Trust,” replacing God with Trump.

The idols’ base says, “I love you” along with Trump’s signature.

Another Jurassic Park movie announced...
At this point, every additional sequel after a series starts going downhill should see the person responsible subject to Athenian ostracization
It means they can only continue their terrible sequel syndrome after 10 years minimum

i said this a few days ago but it bears repeating: trans stories are human stories. our themes resonate with everyone, because everyone Becomes something new over the course of their life. we are not just on the fringes of humanity but a core part of it
I do not believe the writers didn't know what they were doing. I can't even conceptualize a writers room that ends up ACCIDENTALLY hitting all these trans bullseyes

My idea of Athenian-Theban yuri is bolstered as I progress through the timeline. Not only did I forget that they harbored each others democratic refugees after Sparta forced oligarchy on each of them, but Thebes helped rebuild the walls of Athens after the Peloponnesian War

The reason we view the Patriots of the Revolutionary War as god-like heroes and the Puritans of the English Civil Wars as vicious religious extremists is just nationalistic mythology.

The ideological, political, and economic aims of these rebellions were essentially indistinguishable.
