We talked about a lot of different contingencies and emergencies but this was never a scenario discussed back when I was a public health graduate student.
This dystopian banner is being shown on the CDC's website.

I visited the Milwaukee Art Museum. One of the exhibits, “True Story: Photography, Journalism and Media”, contains “Live HIV” by Taryn Simon, taken at the HIV Research Laboratory, Harvard Medical School in 2006/07. It was used to study the neutralizing potential of antibodies against HIV.

This morning I have to find out if my program will be cut off from federal funding. With all the confusion, it’ll take some time to find out for sure.

If you didn't like the price of eggs going up, vote for people who will increase pandemic preparedness and response funding.

That's how this works.

The US might be a dumpster fire with all the anti-public health events and chaos but today I worked with a community member to distribute 15 boxes of emergency contraceptive.

Small wins, big impact.

This hurts Americans and it hurts everyone.

The WHO is an essential international body. Imperfect as so many human institutions are (and I have never been afraid to criticize) but truly a force for good and a guardian of human health.

This is nihilism and unwise.

This weekend, I was at a community event handing out free health supplies like naloxone and COVID-19 tests.

90% of folks said they didn’t want a test bc “I’m not planning to get sick.”

That’s… not how it works. I tried to share some education, but it was definitely an interesting experience.
