They still make me laugh lol.

They're perfectly fine! I don't know what I was expecting. Then again that was also peak SoBe time and the pina colada one put every other soft drink in existence to shame, so I guess it had uhh ... big ... caps ... to fill. Or something.

I can't BELIEVE I didn't learn about Magic Sword until today. They're like if Woden from The Wicked + The Divine (ie. evil Daft Punk) decided to be 3 Doctor Dooms with synths and guitars

It's 6 mos away, but I'm stoked to dance in the most aggressive and autistic way possible with @spacebearsmo.bsky.social at Dance With The Dead and Magic Sword~

DWTD was in my top 5 for my 2025 wrap-up, & I'm excited to have learned about Magic Sword.

Also glad some concerts are still affordable!

Re: my pleas for a Blindfold Buddy, please take a look at what their audiences are like. They had a metal version of slow dancing - a very slow circle pit - during a quiet piano song

$6500 won't cover a single refill of one of my two epilepsy medications. The other is almost $2k per fill. We're talking generic here.

Every other audiobook in the carousel is fantasy or sci fi written by inclusive authors who focus heavily on forgiveness and empathy. But now Amazon is sneaking in dreck by a Petersonian eugenicist scumbag whose career is so childishly contrarian that his work is beloved by the likes of Jubilee.

My Audible sub is frozen, but with unused credits the app is still haranguing me. The last month or so it suddenly started pushing books like this. Most of my library is made up of Becky Chambers, Pratchett, L'Engle, Le Guin, etc. Why now is Surveillance Inc. pushing stuff like this? Why indeed.

I'm not sure Congress Dems could do much worse. This is a graph of the parties of people being polled, but given that the minority is pretty slim in both houses, 5% approval is pretty grim - was even worse in August. Wonder what it'll be when poll lag catches up to reflect caving on the shutdown.

I mean be for fuckin real man, you're writing songs about how I'm old and ugly now??? My guy I'm sitting at a computer in yoga pants and Pusheen slippers and drinking horchata, I am begging you to get over it, I don't even hate me as much as you do and I pay $300 a week for therapy

It's really cool that the dragon dressup game I play manage my anxiety is now advertising

LONG-RANGE PRECISION STRIKE M I S S I L E S

I know I can't say it on the site but @flightrising.com, please find another partner to manage your ads. I never get ads like this or ICE recruitment anywhere else

And yeah I do enjoy theatrics at metal shows. With ticket prices now now, I appreciate the extra effort. Also, lighten up. Humor has ALWAYS been a thing in metal, as have hopeful themes. If that makes me a "Disney Adult Metal Fan," just go take yourself too seriously in the corner with Dimmu Borgir

As someone with lifelong absolutely relentless, debilitating depression, I cannot emphasize enough how helpful this first book is.

The second is more practical and long-term, is available in Spanish, and can either be purchased in hard copy or downloaded for free as a PDF.

I admire the conceit of "Good Boy" - a "haunted house" film from the perspective of a dog, who acts and processes information (and does not speak) like a regular dog. Rather than physical harm, the filmmaker based the fear on the knowledge that dogs have complex emotions and inner lives.

Learned that "Bram Stoker's Dracula" was only NOMINATED for the Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation

Checked the 1993 winners because what the hell could have beaten out that iconic film

Tom and I both simultaneously say "Ahhh they were right"

Just looks to me like you are back to your old reprehensible, fork-tongued self, saying things that are objectively untrue. This is why I never trusted your supposed "rebrand." Built a career on falsehood, so there's no way you'd leave that behind permanently.

The scream I scrumpt when I realized that Meg Mucklebones, the swamp witch in criminally underrated 80s fantasy cheese-fest "Legend" (director's cut only pls, the theatrical cut is a mess of continuity, editing, and score from start to finish), was played by Thee fucking Doctor Robert Picardo

God, where that page isn't being wildly offensive it's just overflowing with Trump asskissing.

Also, I could be wrong but I do not believe it has ever been referred to as a "palace" by anyone but this cretin. And the phrase "current name" makes me anxious given the open references to Mar-A-Lago.

Finished "The Plague Dogs." Learned where it was actually supposed to end but that Richard Adams was forced to add a different ending by his publisher because it was too bleak, and then an *additional* buffer *before* the new ending for the following printings because it was STILL too sad

Context for why USians are reaching a breaking point with food program cuts. This isn't a loss of a huge entitlement. It's been whittled down. In my state you can only get food stamps if you basically don't have an income, and the avg "benefit" is $130/mo per person. Restrictions are dehumanizing.
