There's some that did. Unfortunately, none who had the power to do anything about it but some ppl definitely had it in 2014. More ppl had it in 2022. Just, again, wrong ppl.

Any articles that don't mention hand sanitizer classify as a win.

Too much emphasis & unrealistic expectations are put on it. Particularly in environments where ppl aren't wearing gloves.

We really need to talk about Carney's reaction. The one who is actually the leader of Canada. Who absolutely failed to condemn Trump's actions & celebrated this illegal action. It was more subtle than PP's post but definitely indicated the same sentiment.

I had never heard of medications for hiccups. I was told there was nothing to treat hiccups about 20yrs ago when I had issues with them.
I assume that the 3 meds that can be used are more recently approved for hiccup use or are used off label.
It's uncomfortable but not life or death situation.
January 1, 2026 at 9:03 AM
Yes it can be a medical issue if it's persistent- which means over time. At which point there has be better options than going to an emergency room.
Especially considering if it's a chronic issue you're going to require follow up since hiccup pathology isn't very well understood.

Wow... I didn't realize that the U.S. still had it's elimination status. Canada already lost it & many of the initial cases came from the U.S.

Wait.... hiccups?

Coughs I understand. Not ideal that ppl are going to emergency but I understand it.
What is a dr going to do for hiccups?

So surprising.

Public health in general should also own this.
It's not widely publicized that you should have your TdAP every 2yrs to cover for infants too young. Most ppl only know about the tetanus aspect of it- that's really the only part of the shot that's emphasized for adults-every 10yrs or 1yr w injury
December 30, 2025 at 10:34 PM
And it's only a Covid death if you've been diagnosed with it within 30days if they bothered testing.
There's a lot of deaths deemed "sudden" for younger ppl. I'm sure it's purely coincidence the cause of deaths are seeing rises in conditions linked to Covid infections.

Also, you seem to be confused about what level of govt gets to make the rules about entering a country. It's only the federal level.

And masking with a respirator would prevent most diseases from spreading, including the diseases that you aren't vaccinated against.
December 30, 2025 at 10:11 AM
You can complain all you want but that's not actually how you get change to happen.
December 30, 2025 at 10:05 AM
I'm just saying that each nation gets to decide what they require foreigners to be vaccinated against for entry. Not all diseases are spreading in all countries. You can't force your will onto other nations. It would be nice if everyone was vaccinated but there's no access to vaccines in some places
December 30, 2025 at 10:04 AM
You can advocate for your own nation to have that requirement for entry. Unfortunately, you can't force other nations to require vaccinations. And vaccinations don't prevent 100% of infections, so you run the risk of still being infected going somewhere there's an outbreak.

I had issues with food noise. It turned out that the issue was related to what I was eating- I need to be conscious of making sure I am eating enough fats & proteins. I eat what I want but apparently I more gravitate towards the carbs.
December 30, 2025 at 7:09 AM
"food noise" is an issue of not feeling satiated even after you've eaten. So you basically feel hungry all the time- which is an issue for some ppl. Even if your stomach is full.
I'm not at all in favour of advertising GLP-1s or the diet culture & definitely not promoting eating disorders.
December 30, 2025 at 7:02 AM
Ugh... I woke up feeling not well this morning.
I'm confident it's related to the 30°C temperature swing over 30hours after overdoing it for the past 2weeks.
Flare-ups suck. Yet I don't seem to learn year after year.
December 29, 2025 at 6:56 AM
Those are definitely themes in the stage play.

Not talking about the actual history, which is a lot more complicated & ppl have all sorts of motivations.
December 29, 2025 at 6:32 AM
It's unfortunately not just the USA. Canada lost its measle-free status this year & there's several outbreaks in Europe.
It's to the point where there's more places that have it than don't.

Except I am not sorry. I like not being sick
December 28, 2025 at 7:50 PM
I mean, what more does he want me to say than "no" when he asks if I'm sick?
