Having to sell some things to pay bills & meds😭 Would LOVE this dear Lady to go to a good home if any moots would love her? She cost me £300 but open to offers of £150 or more. She's original vintage chalkware 44cm tall & glows in the dark!😭Incredible condition for age, couple of tiny flakes missing

Bah. Racism ain't gonna be fixed today. Canting Tribe Folks are gonna have to keep on doing what we've been doing for hundreds of years and just keep on plodding on.
I'm gonna clean my house. I'm gonna uplift others. I'm going to educate folks on Indigenous matters and I'm gonna create art.

Canting Tribe children were sometimes thought of as being able to be "Washed White" through skin dye (To remove any genetic translucency of the skin) or through skin bleaching. And of course, the maiming of facial features, like the "surgical" removal of Indigenous features. 🧵

Back when I was doing Inter-Indigenous cross cultural studies with a Cherokee Academic about "Sacred smoke ceremonies" - specifically looking at the how, why and a closer look at plants.
We had a good discussion about native sweet grasses too ❤️

Epicanthal Folds were a thing that people used to think linked #CantingTribe folks with the Sami. (Especially considering both groups have a high Nomadic population and have distinctive spiritual beliefs)
But there's never actually been a genetic connection found-Or cultural. It's just chance!
