Enormous tree update:

Lights added, decorations not added yet (I have a metric ton of decorations)
A brightly and colorfully lit Christmas tree that is almost 10 feet tall in a living room beside a large bay window, couch, accent chair, and one large fluffy white dog sitting beside the tree looking up for scale. Seriously, this is a giant dutch oven and these contents just filled a 9x13 casserole dish very generously even being a bit packed down

Future me really deserves this
A well-browned loaf of cranberry orange bread in a fancy loaf pan on a tiny cooling rack. The loaf if studded with red and crimson cranberries and the top of the loaf is cracked along the top center revealing the golden cakey inside. It smells redolent of sweet orange and a touch of vanilla.

A bit of how it was made. Not in the pics but y’all know there was a parm rind in there too. And white wine
Diced orange carrots and green celery and broccolini stalks with sliced white and green leeks and white fennel bulb sweat in a big oval dutch oven Browned bacon bits and chunks of browned sausage sitting in the upturned lid of the Dutch oven, waiting The veggie pile has cooked down some, leaving a dark brown fond on the bottom of the Dutch oven. There’s a bit of red tomato paste visible. The pan was deglazed with a can of diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and white wine. Bright green broccoli florets are visible floating in the brick red broth.

I did overshoot the veggies by one bunch of baby spinach and one head of broccoli. But look at these beautiful veggies!

Yeah man

The broth looks rich with olive oil and black pepper. There’s a ton of fennel, leeks, onion and garlic in there too. A glass of white wine and some focaccia are in the background.

Also, I came home and made the butternaise grilled cheese. Gotta be honest fam, it wasn’t for me. 🫣

The butternaise itself is actually quite tasty! It would be great as a mayo spread on the inside of a sandwich. Sadly cooking it ruins the subtle flavor of the kewpie which I couldn’t taste at all ☹️
