It surely also compromises the ability of the accused to manage a legal defense in any number of ways consequent to loss of income.

You are right that Australia should sign on to the Mutirão roadmap. It’s not enough to state reductions goals, we need a roadmap and more. We urgently need to already be travelling the road to serious phase-out.

If such abject failures, verging on deliberate corruption, have inadequate penalties then there’s little point in standards and regulatory oversight.
