At risk of sounding a bit mean, IMO the song doesn't even have that much to offer sonically, i think Taylor just wanted to refer to an explicitly gay song, "forshadowing" if you will.

Ever since she's been dating travis she hasn't released a single love song which actual depth. I think thats the point. She wants the fans to realize she CAN write much better and deeper about her partner if they were actually in love

It seems to me ever since Midnights it's been more clearly concept albums than before. Midnights ofcourse even though it doesnt have a title like that is a whole concept she wrote around, and TTPD is really a lot of songs that litterally could have been poem. Maybe these types of titles
