An awful lot of people fall for the “I haven’t experienced/ seen/ heard this myself, so therefore it can’t be real” fallacy.
That’s the exact kind of blind privilege that leads to the demonization of minority groups (dehumanized as “niche”) in so much of our cultural and opens the door to fascism.
