As far as grounding it in different places, it feels important to me that my poetics is grounded in landscape and in writing toward or with the intention of protecting our landscapes. In hindsight I wish that was even more obvious in this collection, and it will be more obvious in my work moving forward. We owe everything to the land. I do for sure. I’m always trying to tap into and connect to the places that shaped me. To the people who shaped me. The language that shaped me.
