Those governments also weren't fully socialist, or at least the government never seized the means of production.
The only real examples you have are the Soviet Union, China, North Korea, and possibly the countries under their control, all very authoritarian if not dictatorships.

Keep in mind the goal isn't "standing up to Donald Trump", the goal is to get ACA funded. Standing up to DT is just a requirement to get that done.

Is there even a real reason for Republicans to hold the vote they promised? What are the consequences if they don't? It's not like Dems can take them to court over it.

My guess is that some people use quotes the way most of us would use asterisks, or italics/bold if the medium supported it.

Nah, not really. The closest he came was "fight like hell", but, as his lawyers pointed out, that's figurative language used all through politics. Only some of the organizers were paid.

They would first deny that characterization of those people. But even if they didn't, they'd point out that God has often used evil people to implement his will.
As a non-believer, I think these people are morally bankrupt, but I acknowledge their coping mechanisms.
