He was the World Series MVP from sometime in the early 90s, which I only remember because he was from a couple of towns over from my hometown! They had signs "Home of Pat Borders" around town for years.

I'm a little younger. Started collecting in 1987. Got the bug big starting in 1991. Flamed out by 1994, and just getting back into it now. I'm a little scarred by the non-value of almost everything I grew up collecting. Now I'm going for 80s rookies, vintage, pre-war, and Japanese. It's fun again!

Collectors of current cards are gonna find out sooner or later what "junk wax era" collectors did.
