Here is an adult woodpecker feeding its youngster on a tree outside my bedroom window. Ive taken so many shots through that window of all sorts of birds and animals. I half thought about making a photobook with them titled "from my bedroom window" or something.

What a miserable day! Storm Bert has well and truly put a damper on things.
Here is a Kestrel that landed on a pole just outside my workplace last week. One of the first shots I got with my new Nikon Z8, after being a Sony shooter for several years.

Modern technology is pretty incredible.
This image is shot handheld at 600mm. 1/5 second, f/6.3 ISO 72.
Yes, 1/5 of a second!
It's also an immense crop and still perfectly usable.
Nikon Z8, 180-600mm.
Id never usually shoot so slow, but It was a great opportunity to test the VR.

Whilst not the greatest image in the world, it holds a very special place in my heart. It was taken the evening before the last time I saw my mother alive. I camped there so I could visit her early the next morning. She died a week later of cancer. #landscapephotography
