Day 23: Singing

The music of the world has hit a discordant note.

The angels sing out of harmony.
The heavenly conductor throws down his baton
And threatens to go to hell,
For, he says, the demons can’t be any worse.

Day 10: Post/Mail

I am very young,
Watching, through the screen door
For the postman to bring the mail.

Will there be anything for me?
I don’t know, but I hope.

Day 7: Library

I'll have to come back and finish this one, but I covered the challenge word. #Nationalpoetrymonth #poetrycommunity #poetry #poem #amWriting #NPM

In a corner of the library,
In a small hidden nook,
Lives a wee little fairy,
And her pet mouse Snook.

Today's word for #NationalPoetryMonth is LOCK.

If you'd like to participate, here's the list. I'll come back and share my poem later (still pondering various meanings of the word).

And realized that most of the world already
Saw us the way we were finally seeing ourselves.

Today's word: Work

Here's the list again, feel free to join in!

This one isn't very good, I'm treating #NPM like Inktober, a quick sketch then, a quick poem now. Just getting back into the habit of writing.

An epigram to start the month.

US elections should be held on April Fool's
Since no matter who wins, we lose.

This is the list I'll be using for #NationalPoetryMonth next month. My goal is to post a poem each day.

Does writing count?

The Goat Man whistles as a woman burdened by grief returns to a mountain that doesn’t forget—or forgive. In the Southern Gothic "An Old God’s Song," memory and reality blur. The mountain remembers, even when we prefer not to.

A woman returns to the mountain where her boyfriend died years ago. Guided by the mysterious Goat Man, she must uncover buried truths and rewrite the past. Our Town meets Penny Dreadful in this dark tale of love, guilt, and second chances. #P2Ppit #W #Q

When the plague strikes a small Appalachian town, survival depends on the town's outcasts and a research doctor who prefers science to people.

Think Camus’s The Plague meets Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five in this Lit/Sci-Fi/Gothic tale of small towns and people who don't fit in. #P2Ppit #W #Q
