I don’t know why this just popped into my head but I just remembered when my cousin broke up with his high school girlfriend for a suitably teenage reason like “she was taking too much time away from my video games” and her response was “it because my hair isn’t big enough, isn’t it?”

Explain your user name:

Tea is my first (nick) name, I like Teaberry Gum and Berry-Blue Jell-o, and I have been using this as a handle since college, that’s really all there is to it.

Explain your user name:

Our original last name had no vowels so we chose a more pronounceable (but still Jewish) one when they let us in here. And that’s my handle because I need to be findable online for professional reasons.

explain your username:

I started going by “Miss Kitty Fantastico” online when I started watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer as a teenager, but that was often too longer for a username on a lot of sites, so I shortened it to “misskittyf.” It’s stuck for nearly 20 years now.

Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

Luckily, computers aren't sentient. And they never will be. But the fact that people THINK they own sentient creatures and aren't troubled by that idea is... deeply worrying

It is morally wrong to want a computer to be sentient. If you owned a sentient thing, you would be a slaver. If you want sentient computers to exist, you just want to create a new kind of slavery. The ethics are as simple as that. Sorry if this offends

I think Schulz’ dictate that no one create new Peanuts material after his death was a good one! But I don’t think his intent was that papers would run reprints as infinitum, I think his expectation was that that newspaper real estate would go to new creators.
teaberryblue.net
Peanuts made it okay for strips to go into reruns and still maintain comic page real estate. There were some strips in reruns prior to Peanuts but they weren’t nearly as ubiquitous as Peanuts and Peanuts kind of opened the floodgates on that.
teaberryblue.net
Yeah, I’d argue that in recent years, legacy strips have also been used to give their new cartoonists a platform to tell new jokes/stories that will be seen in numerous papers (see Nancy, Flash Gordon, etc) rather than merely trying to emulate the original.

And…
